André Rieu

Et son orchestre Johann Strauss

21 November 2024

Doors: 18:00 | Show: 19:30

Renowned Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu returns to Switzerland for his new 2024 world tour. Two exceptional concerts are scheduled, on November 21 at the Vaudoise arena in Lausanne and on November 22 in Zurich.

For decades, André Rieu’s exceptional live performances and the enchanting ambience of his concerts have earned him a worldwide reputation. Upcoming concerts at Lausanne’s Vaudoise arena and Zurich’s Hallenstadion will feature a varied program ranging from wonderful waltzes to iconic titles from opera, operetta, musical comedy, film and many other world-famous hits.

Over 700,000 spectators were won over by the “King of the Waltz” during his 2023 tour. This success is richly deserved, as his concerts offer a unique musical journey for the whole family. The show begins as André Rieu and his musicians take to the stage in their sumptuous costumes. Spectators can then enjoy a romantic and joyful program, mixing variety hits, excerpts from musicals, operas, operettas, film music, and of course, sublime waltzes. With unrivalled mastery, André Rieu directs the show, infusing it with his charm and humour to create an unforgettable musical and emotional experience. An atmosphere that attracts audiences of all ages and backgrounds, and ends each evening with a big party.

With ten million fans on Facebook and over 40 million albums sold, André Rieu’s popularity has long outstripped that of many pop and rock artists. From Chicago to Bahrain, Malta to Toronto, he gave over 80 concerts on this year’s tour. With four stages at his disposal and all instruments in quadruplicate to facilitate long journeys, he travels accompanied by a troupe of 100 people, made up of the world’s largest private orchestra, a choir, soloists, as well as cooks, a doctor and a sports coach.

On November 17, he will also release his brand-new album “Jewels of Romance”: a wonderful compilation of musical treasures, accompanied by an exclusive bonus DVD featuring many highlights from André Rieu’s concerts around the world.
